BRAND · THE NUTRIENT WALL
Three bottles do the work. The rest fine-tune it.
Cutting Edge Solutions is a family-owned nutrient line made in White City, Oregon, and its bottles sit on the top shelf of our nutrient wall. The 3-part base of Micro, Grow and Bloom feeds the plant from cutting to harvest, and three add-ons sit beside it. Here is what each bottle does and when it goes in.

How we stock it at Green Zone
The Cutting Edge bottles are on the top shelf of the fourth bay of our nutrient wall: Micro, Grow and Bloom, with Uncle John's Blend, Sugaree and Mag-Amped beside them.
Cutting Edge says it makes everything in-house in Oregon, from formulation to shipping, for growers from small home gardens up. It works in soil, coco and hydro, and the maker publishes its own feeding chart by stage.
How a 3-part base works, in one paragraph
Instead of one bottle for veg and one for flower, a 3-part base splits the food so you can shift the balance as the plant grows. Micro carries the micronutrients plus nitrogen and calcium and goes in at every stage. Grow carries the nitrogen-heavy mix for veg and is phased out once plants are flowering. Bloom carries phosphorus and potassium, plus magnesium and sulfur, and it climbs as Grow drops. Cutting Edge's chart walks that hand-off week by week, from cuttings and seedlings through transition and early and late flower.
The lineup

Cutting Edge Micro (6-0-0)
The micronutrient part of the base, with nitrogen and calcium. The maker's reservoir dose runs from 2 mL per gallon for cuttings and seedlings to 6 mL per gallon from veg through flower.
Where it fits: Every stage

Cutting Edge Grow (2-1-6)
The veg part of the base: 15 mL per gallon in veg, 5 mL in the transition, then out once flowers set.
Where it fits: Veg, tapering through the transition

Cutting Edge Bloom (0-6-5)
Phosphorus and potassium with magnesium and sulfur. A little goes in during veg and it climbs to 20 mL per gallon in flower.
Where it fits: Veg, climbing into flower

Uncle John's Blend (0-0-2)
A supplement for drip and recirculating systems that also works as a foliar spray in veg. Cutting Edge says it works with other nutrient programs, not only its own.
Where it fits: All stages, most useful in flower

Sugaree (0-0-2)
Potassium plus a carbohydrate made from cane juice and molasses, there to feed the microbes in the root zone. The maker's dose is 10 mL per gallon in flower.
Where it fits: Flower

Mag-Amped
Magnesium and sulfur in a complexed form, at 2 mL per gallon. Magnesium sits at the center of chlorophyll, so this is the bottle for a grower who keeps seeing magnesium-hungry leaves.
Where it fits: All stages
The label pictures on Micro, Grow, Bloom, Uncle John's Blend and Mag-Amped carry the maker's small leaf badge. Doses above are Cutting Edge's own label and chart numbers; start at the low end and read the plant.
What the feed should read
Cutting Edge's chart gives a pH range of 5.7 to 6.4, depending on the medium. Our own lanes are 6.2 to 6.8 in soil and 5.8 to 6.2 in coco and hydro. For strength, we steer by EC: about 0.8 to 1.4 in veg and 1.2 to 1.8 in flower, and we move it about 0.2 at a time. If you use a chart and an EC pen together, the pen wins.
How it fits your grow, in 3 steps
Step 1. Start with the three base bottles.
Micro, Grow and Bloom are the whole diet. Add-ons are optional, so buy the base first and learn it.
Step 2. Mix in order, and measure.
Add each part to the water separately and stir between them. Then check the EC and pH before it goes to the plants.
Step 3. Change one thing at a time.
If the plant asks for more or less, move the feed about 0.2 EC and give it a week of new growth before you judge.
Who it's for, and who it's not for
A good fit if
You want a mineral base line you can steer by stage, in soil, coco or hydro.
You run a drip or recirculating system and want a line built for it.
You like a short shelf: three bottles, plus add-ons only if you need them.
Not the right fit if
You want one bottle and done: a 1-part line is simpler.
You grow in an amended living soil and only add water: you won't need a bottled base.
Common mistakes we help people avoid
Pouring the parts in together. Mix each part into the water on its own and stir between them.
Keeping Grow at full strength into flower. The maker phases it out as flowers set. Follow the chart's transition column.
Feeding from the chart alone. The chart is a starting point. The EC pen and the new growth tell you if it's right.
Frequently asked questions
Is Cutting Edge organic?
Cutting Edge doesn't call it organic. It's a mineral nutrient line made in Oregon. If you want an organic program, ask us about the Roots Organics and FoxFarm shelves.
Where is the feeding chart?
On the maker's site, on its feed charts page, in a Basic and a Professional version.
Can I use Uncle John's Blend with another brand's base?
Cutting Edge says it's compatible with other nutrient programs.
Is this the same as CYCO on the next bay?
No. CYCO is a different line, and it's on a final-sale shelf. Call (508) 459-9609 to check which Cutting Edge sizes are in before you drive.
